Product Overview
The IBM 600GB 10 K 6GBPS SAS 2.5” SFF Slim - HS Hard Disk Drive is one of the parts of the PARC Blade Center Dayton, which is used in the Discovery 600 and Discovery 690 PET- CT scanners. The PARC is designed using IBM blade center H chassis technology. The scan and recon control processing run on the PET Acquisition Reconstruction (PAR) processor (HS22) installed in slot 2 of the blade center. The PAR performs all the acquisition functions including the raw and sinogram data storage (using the 2 on-board hard disk drives), as well as all 3D PET image reconstruction functions in this base configuration. The PARC blade center supports four major functions that are data acquisition, image reconstruction, scan control, and recon control. These functions require advanced computing, storage and I/O capabilities. The acquisition is demanding across I/O, computing and storage bandwidth. The reconstruction requires large scale computations. While the scan and recon control have modest computational requirements, they must have the deterministic real-time response capability.
