Product Overview
The Wire Harness is generally a set of electric cables which transmit signals. This assembly consists of a pair of hook-up wire, crimp terminal, receptacle housing and an audio transducer. Its intended purpose is to transmit a signal to the speaker in Giraffe™ Warmer. A 19 x 36 strand, 24 AWG hook-up wire is terminated with a crimp housing and socket. The other end is soldered with the audio transducer. An audio transducer (speaker) is an electroacoustic device that converts an electrical signal into mechanical signal (in the form of vibration). A crimp terminal is made up of phosphor bronze with gold and tin plating at the mating and termination. Phosphor bronze is an alloy of copper with 0.5 to 11% of tin and 0.01 to 0.35% phosphorus, which offers excellent corrosion and wear resistance. The housing is made of a polyester alloy that adds temperature and chemical resistance. The hook-up wire is insulated with polyvinyl chloride to prevent signal loss or distortion. The harness is labeled with item number, revision level and date of manufacture for easy identification.
